Terms & Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

  • “Company” refers to REC RENOVATIONS (REC ENTERPRISES LTD).

  • “Client” means the person or organisation requesting goods/services from the Company.

  • “Works” means the building, renovation, or design services provided by the Company.

  • “Agreement” means these Terms & Conditions and any associated Quotation or Contract.

2. SCOPE OF WORK

2.1. The Company agrees to carry out the Works as described in the agreed quotation or contract.
2.2. Any additional work not included in the original quote will require a written variation and may incur additional charges.
2.3. The Company reserves the right to refuse work outside the agreed scope or which is deemed unsafe or unlawful.

3. QUOTATIONS & PRICING

3.1. All quotes are valid for 30 days from the issue date.
3.2. Quotations are subject to survey and may be revised if site conditions differ from those initially stated.
3.3. Prices exclude VAT unless otherwise stated.
3.4. Material costs may fluctuate. The Company reserves the right to adjust pricing for substantial increases, with prior notice to the Client.

4. PAYMENT TERMS

4.1. A deposit of 10–30% (as specified) is required before commencement of works.
4.2. Payment milestones will be outlined in your quote.
4.3. Final payment is due upon completion, within 5 working days of invoice.
4.4. Late payments may incur interest at 5% above the Bank of England base rate.
4.5. Materials remain the property of the Company until full payment is received.

5. CANCELLATION & DELAYS

5.1. Cancellation by the Client within 7 days of the start date may incur a fee to cover losses.
5.2. The Company reserves the right to delay or reschedule work due to weather, supplier issues, or illness.
5.3. If delays are caused by the Client (e.g., access issues, late decisions), extra costs may be charged.

6. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1. The Client must provide clear access to the site and necessary utilities.
6.2. The Client is responsible for removing or protecting personal items and valuables.
6.3. If any consents (e.g., planning permission, party wall agreements) are required, these must be secured by the Client unless otherwise agreed.

7. GUARANTEES & LIABILITY

7.1. Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion unless otherwise stated.
7.2. Manufacturer warranties apply to materials where applicable.
7.3. The Company is fully insured for public liability and employer’s liability.
7.4. The Company shall not be liable for:

  • Pre-existing structural issues;

  • Consequential losses from delays or disruptions;

  • Minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with trade tolerances.

8. COMPLAINTS & DISPUTES

8.1. All concerns must be raised in writing within 7 days of the issue arising.
8.2. We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.
8.3. If a resolution cannot be found, disputes may be referred to a recognised mediation service before any legal action.

9. COWBOY BUILDERS & CONSUMER PROTECTION

9.1. REC RENOVATIONS stands against rogue traders and cowboy builders.
9.2. We are committed to full transparency, professionalism, and quality standards.
9.3. Clients are advised not to pay cash-in-hand or agree to vague verbal quotes from others.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

10.1. All design work, drawings, and specifications produced by REC RENOVATIONS remain the property of the Company unless otherwise agreed in writing.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.

12. ACCEPTANCE

By engaging REC RENOVATIONS, the Client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
